Orinoco Delta
Orinoco is one of the longest rivers
of South America and its delta in the East of Venezuela is the size
of Belgium. Going to Orinoco Delta is more than anything an
experience of beautiful unexploited nature. Here you can visit the
Warao indians in their huts on the water and staying here usually
means living in a lodge by the riverside. Animal life spans from
great variety of birds to River Dolphins, Tapir and Manatee. The
latter some say being the origin of the belief in Mermaids. And
yes, while here, don't forget to fish Piranha's!
