Mérida
Squeezed in between two Andean mountain ranges lay
Mérida, a University city with 350 000 residents. It is the
2nd largest tourist region in Venezuela after Isla de Margarita. At
1600 meters Mérida enjoys springlike weather all year round
and there are as many as four National Parks in the area. Sierra
Nevada is the most well known one and in this park you can climb
Pico Bolívar, the highest peak in Venzuela at 4981 meters.
This area is truly adventure valley No 1 in Venezuela and here you
can do anything you can think of when it comes adrenaline sports;
Mountain climbing, Trekking, White water rafting, Paragliding,
Mountain biking and it keeps on going.
